Always eager for some Mountain adventures it was no surprise to our better halves when we signed up for the annual Whittingham Rover Scout Winter skills weekend again this year.

This was without doubt the most daunting event I had contemplated to date. OK I had taken part in the 53 mile Highland Fling in 2011, but this one had the added uncertainty of altitude!

Just planning and actually getting to Scotland to climb some hills has been a problem in the last couple of years, as every time I arrange a trip something happens and it has to be cancelled.

As If there wasn’t enough Social Networking sites, Blogs and Web Sites on the World Wide Web that feature me and what I am doing or have done or even what I am thinking about doing, well here is another.

As we spend a lot of time messing about in the outdoors either running or biking, we thought that this was the starting point. So what do we have on our back door step? The Muckle Cheviot, The Mighty Tweed and the Cold North Sea!
